Beyoncé Pays Tribute to George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor in Commencement Speech

"You have arrived in the middle of a global crisis, a racial pandemic, and worldwide expression of outrage at the senseless killing of yet another unarmed Black human being."


YouTube's Dear Class of 2020 streamed on June 7, 2020, and featured appearances from Barack and Michelle Obama, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Yara Shahidi, Billy Porter, Kerry Washington, Lizzo, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry.

The queen herself, Beyoncé, also delivered a beautiful speech during the broadcast. The singer addressed the fear she felt starting her own company, and how she came to believe in herself. Beyoncé also discussed the current global crisis, and the Black Lives Matter protests taking place all over the world.
