Duolingo is by far the most popular language learning app out there, and is a great way to boost one’s motivation with its cute characters and gamification.
However, if your goal is to learn Italian, a highly inflected language with a complex grammar system that can be particularly puzzling for English speakers, figuring out how a language works by trial and error may not be the best strategy.
We believe that
the Duolingo Italian course should be complemented by a grammar
textbook, so that adult learners can understand the why’s and how’s
instead of fumbling around in the dark, repeating the same mistakes over
and over.
This booklet gives just a taste of Italian grammar,
but it includes all the basic concepts that can make your life easier
while working your way through the Italian course, expressed in a simple
and concise way, with references to the units in the Duolingo course.
