Racial & gender equity has been advocated for for decades, and the fight continues in 2020 – which brings us to the Vogue Challenge.
Right now, millions of people are posting the most glamorous shots of themselves added to the cover of Vogue magazine, showing that anyone & everyone deserves to be seen & accepted.
The challenge was started by Oslo-based model Salma Noor, bringing a call for racial justice to the conversation around fashion representation with her headline "Being Black is Not a Crime." The social media trend is a distinctive one – both cosmetic & serious, stylish & political.
It's even moved beyond the confines of the traditional magazine cover, appearing on TikTok in video glamour shots using a greenscreen feature, like a model's fashion shoot coming to life in real-time. There are more and more ways to add yourself to the Vogue Challenge conversation in 2020 – all you need to know is how.
It's not the easiest task to accomplish, especially if you want to use video – you need an editing tool that supports custom text, font, arrangement, and color, as well as photo & video filters and precise formatting. I recommend using Kapwing to create your Vogue Challenge: it's online, free, and allows you to create high-quality images with every feature you need. Here's how to do it in under a minute with a customizable template:
