Nel trailer vediamo il personaggio Blanca riflettere sulla sua famiglia e sul suo percorso di vita. Tra sbagli e rischi, molti degli equilibri che si erano creati hanno subito un duro cambiamento. Pray Tell deve fronteggiare i suoi gravi problemi di salute: «Sapevo che questa malattia mi avrebbe mangiato vivo, ma non me ne andrò senza combattere.»

L’ultima stagione di Pose verrà trasmessa in streaming il 2 maggio 2021 e sarà composta da sette episodi. Gli spettatori verranno guidati verso un tempo più lontano rispetto a quello in cui erano stati lasciati: un salto temporale notevole fino al 1994, un anno fondamentale per Blanca. Il passato è un demone che la protagonista ha dovuto controllare, in modo tale da vivere diversamente il suo ruolo di madre, partner e assistente medico.

Una vita difficile, fatta di rinunce e situazioni incontrollabili: all’improvviso la sua comunità e la sua famiglia dovrà combattere una tra le peggiori malattie del nostro secolo, L’AIDS. Gli anni ’90 sono stati devastanti da questo punto di vista, l’AIDS ha spento numerose vite e gli Stati Uniti è stato il paese più colpito al mondo. Pray Tell affronterà il terrore della sua positività alla malattia, con la paura di morire da un momento all’altro.

La serie tv di Canals, Brad Falchuck e Ryan Murphy si conclude con la terza stagione. Il progetto ha accolto sin da subito un cast molto ampio e composto da transgender per ricoprire i ruoli principali: MJ Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore e Hailie Sahar. Pose vanta di un record non inddiferente, infatti, è il primo show a tenere il numero più alto di attori appartenenti alla comunità LGBTQ.

Un progetto dalle caratteristiche uniche, il cui obiettivo è sempre stato quello di abbattere la discriminazione di genere. Pose ha visto il trionfo di Billy Porter come miglior protagonista ai Golden Globe. Janet Mock è stata la prima donna trans a scrivere la sceneggiatura di un episodio televisivo proprio con Pose.

Fashion: Hunter Schafer and Dominique Jackson Are Mugler’s New Bodysuit-Wearing Runway Stars

The Euphoria and Pose stars donned bedazzled catsuits on the runway for the legendary French fashion house.

Euphoria actress Hunter Schafer and Pose star Dominique Jackson can now add “haute couture runway models” to their already impressive resumes. On Transgender Day of Visibility, the starlets appeared in the Spring/Summer 21 presentation for the legendary French fashion house Thierry Mugler, wearing certified lewks, including bedazzled catsuits, slinky wraps, and post-swim wet hair, all executed by creative director Casey Cadwallader.

On Instagram, Dominique Jackson expressed joy over being cast by the storied luxury brand. “Another DREAM MADE REALITY!” she wrote, sharing a clip from the show. >>> HERE

Schafer, who shared her runway debut on her own Instagram page, received major praise from friends and co-stars. “Wow,” Schafer’s Euphoria co-star Zendaya wrote. “The way in which you devoured,” trans model Aaron Philip, who has also pushed for greater disability representation in fashion, added. >>HERE 

Mugler is one of the buzziest brands of the moment. Singers Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B and Miley Cyrus have all donned Mugler bodysuits recently. And under the direction of Casey Cadwallader, who has past experience at Acne Studios and Loewe, Mugler has begun embracing more inclusive casting. Schafer and Jackson starring in Mugler’s latest staging, alongside names like Bella Hadid, exemplifies this ongoing push towards greater trans visibility in fashion.

Increasingly, designers and major fashion publications are bringing more trans models and public figures into the fold, like Hari Nef, Chella Man, Laith Ashley, and Indya Moore, who in 2019 became the first trans woman to front the cover of Elle USA. Schafer herself has modeled for a slew of hot brands, including Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, and Shiseido Makeup.

Serie > Pose, dal 2 maggio la terza stagione: “Sarà l’ultima, con un finale appropriato e bellissimo”

7 puntate, con chiusura il 6 giugno 2021. Pose, capolavoro di Ryan Murphy e Steven Canals, si avvia alla sua conclusione.

L’annuncio tanto atteso. La terza stagione di Pose andrà in onda su FX a partire dal prossimo 2 maggio. Ma con una triste postilla. Sarà l’ultima stagione.

Sette episodi, e non più 10 come inizialmente pensato causa anche Covid-19, viste tutte le difficoltà nel girare in piena pandemia. Due puntate a settimana, con il gran finale che andrà in onda il 6 giugno 2021. 

“Abbiamo avuto modo di raccontare la storia esatta che volevamo, come volevamo raccontarla, e sono incredibilmente onorato e grato per esserci riuscito“, ha detto Ryan Murphy, co-creatore.

“‘Scrivi il programma televisivo che vuoi guardare!’. Questo è quello che mi era stato detto nel 2014 mentre completavo il mio corso in sceneggiatura“, ha continuato l’altro co-creatore Steven Canals. “All’epoca non c’erano molti personaggi Black e Latinx – inoltre anche LGBTQ + – in tv. E così ho scritto la prima bozza di un pilot. Pose è stata concepita come una lettera d’amore alla comunità clandestina delle sale da ballo di New York, alla mia amata New York, alla mia famiglia queer e trans, a me stesso. Io, insieme ai miei incredibili collaboratori, non ho mai avuto intenzione di cambiare il panorama televisivo. Volevo semplicemente raccontare un’onesta storia sulla famiglia, su resilienza e amore. Quanto sono fortunato ad averlo fatto per tre stagioni. Sono pieno di gratitudine per i nostri intrepidi sceneggiatori, il cast, troupe e produttori che hanno lavorato instancabilmente per far nascere Pose. Sono grato alla comunità delle ball room che si è fidata di noi per raccontare la loro storia, sono sopraffatto dalla critica che ci ha accolti calorosamente e sarò per sempre debitore a Ryan Murphy, FX e 20th Television per aver cambiato la mia vita“.

L’ultima stagione di Pose farà un balzo temporale in avanti, dal 1991 al 1994, quando le ball room sembrano un lontano ricordo per Blanca (Mj Rodriguez), che fatica a bilanciare l’essere madre con l’essere fidanzata nonché infermiera. Nel frattempo, mentre l’AIDS diventa la principale causa di morte per gli americani di età compresa tra i 25 ei 44 anni, Pray Tell (Billy Porter) deve far fronte a imprevisti oneri sanitari. Altrove, l’emergere di una nuova e malvagia House costringe i membri della House of Evangelista a fare i conti con la loro eredità.

Sebbene tre stagioni possano sembrare poche, Pose ha lasciato un segno indelebile nel panorama televisivo. Lo show ha infranto il record di personaggi trans interpretati da attori e attrici trans, abbattendo non pochi muri. Porter è diventato il primo uomo apertamente gay a vincere l’Emmy come miglior attore in una serie drama, Mock è diventata la prima donna trans di colore assunta come autrice di una serie TV, nonché prima donna transgender di colore a scrivere e dirigere un episodio televisivo. Pose vanta poi il più grande cast ricorrente di attori LGBTQ di sempre per una serie.

AWARDS: 'Pose,' 'Schitt's Creek,' Lil Nas X and Rachel Maddow Among Winners of Virtual GLAAD Media Awards

Top honors in the film categories went to Olivia Wilde's 'Booksmart' and Wanuri Kahiu's 'Rafiki' during a virtual ceremony that replaced events in New York and Los Angeles due to the pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic may have forced GLAAD to scrap in-person ceremonies in New York and Los Angeles for its 31st annual awards event but it couldn't stop the show. 

The media advocacy organization presented a virtual ceremony tonight on GLAAD's Facebook and YouTube accounts (a version will air on Logo Aug. 3) that featured a long list of LGBTQ stars and allies, a slew of acceptance speeches and even musical performances.

“During this era of political and cultural division, LGBTQ images in media are crucial in accelerating acceptance for the LGBTQ community and countering the dangerous rise in anti-LGBTQ rhetoric,” said GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. “This year’s award recipients, including Pose and Schitt’s Creek, continue to bring necessary mainstream visibility to diverse voices within the LGBTQ community, ultimately raising the bar for LGBTQ inclusion and representation in media.”

Big winners included Olivia Wilde's Booksmart as outstanding film; FX's groundbreaking series Pose for outstanding drama series; Pop TV's Schitt's Creek for outstanding comedy series; Amazon and Joey Soloway's Transparent: Musicale Finale for outstanding TV movie; Netflix's Tales of the City reboot for outstanding limited series; and Lil Nas X for outstanding music artist.

Hosted by comedians Fortune Feimster and Gina Yashere, the show also featured performances by Chloe x Halle, Shea Diamond and Ben Platt, and appearances by Cara Delevingne, Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein, Jennifer Garner, Theo Germaine, Jonica T. Lgbt: Pose, via alle riprese ufficiale per la terza stagione

Tutto pronto per il ritorno di ‘Pose’.

Cresce l’attesa per il ritorno di ‘Pose’. La serie tv di Ryan Murphy in pochissimo tempo è diventata un vero e proprio fenomeno di costume, amata dalla critica e venerata dagli appassionati.

E dopo una seconda stagione che, di fatto, è stata bella e profonda quasi quanto la prima, i vertici della rete hanno confermato, la scorsa estate, anche un terzo ciclo di episodi. Non c’è ancora una data di trasmissione né in America né per l’Italia, ma per il momento nel cuore di New York le riprese sono appena cominciate.

In una foto che è stata pubblicata su twitter e sul profilo ufficiale di ‘Pose’, nel corso della giornata di mercoledì 4 Marzo, la regista di colore Janet Mock conferma il primo ciak. Sono pochissimi i dettagli che abbiamo a disposizione in merito agli episodi della terza stagione.

 Sicuramente i personaggi saranno ancora incastrati nei loro problemi, divisi tra cuore e sogni di un futuro migliore, senza dimenticare lo spettro dell’AIDS che sta terrorizzando tutta la comunità LGBT  (e non solo). Molto probabilmente ci sarà un altro salto temporale, ma sicuramente la terza stagione di ‘Pose’ si focalizzerà ancora di più su quei sfavillanti anni ’90. 

Confermato, per ora, tutto il cast che ha composto le due stagioni precedenti: da Billy Porter fino a Mj Rodriguez. Ad oggi resta una delle serie tv più queer degli ultimi anni. Pose, infatti,  ha avuto la sagacità di saper raccontare il passato (ma anche il presente) del mondo LGBT senza nessun freno inibitorio. Non sarà l’unica serie di Ryan Murphy che arriverà in tv nel corso del 2020. Oltre ad American Horror Story che torna per la stagione numero 10, è previsto il debutto di ‘Hollywood’ nel corso del mese di maggio e della miniserie ‘Halston’ con Ewan McMregor.

Lgbt: Indya Moore Makes History As First Trans Person to Cover Elle US

The 'Pose' star tells the harrowing story of their upbringing.

Indya Moore has cemented the major moment they are having right now as the June cover of Elle magazine. Having appeared as the face of Louis Vuitton, as well as Calvin Klein, the Pose star is now the first trans person to appear on the cover of the American version of Elle.

“Thank you for having me as your first experience covering a trans person,” Moore wrote to Elle in a tweet. “I know I will not be the last. So excited to see Elle leverage their platform to help other talent of trans [experience] find visibility, and the safe space to be acknowledged and vulnerable in this powerful way.”

In the accompanying feature, writer Jada Yuan explains that Indya is nonbinary and utilizes they/them pronouns. They allow the usage of “she,” most for the comfort of others who assume their pronouns due to how society discusses trans identities. But in the accompanying feature, Moore goes on to reveal a lot more about becoming the person they are today.

The story of many trans or queer people of color can be tragic tales that involve violence, poverty and sometimes exploitation. Moore’s tale includes it all. In the feature they detail how signs of femininity as a child prompted discipline from their Jehovah’s Witness, Latinx parents as they had been assigned male at birth. That discipline became so bad that Moore was relocated to the foster system.

“A lot of times, when parents over-discipline their children, especially when they’re queer, their intention isn’t to hurt them,” Moore said. “They think they’re saving their children from harm. But they don’t realize that they’re causing harm, that they’re doing to their kids exactly what they’re afraid of the world doing to them.”

Entering the foster system sent Moore in and out of group homes as well as foster homes. They also began attending the Bronx Community Pride Center where they met Dominique Jackson, a co-star on Pose and the first trans woman Moore had ever seen. After later being placed in a foster home with a guardian who was a trans woman, Moore started a regimen of hormones which they say improved their mood and relationship with their body. But when that guardian decided to stop supplying the hormones, Moore went elsewhere, finding themselves in a sex trafficking ring at 16.

“They told me I needed to do it continuously so that I could afford hormones,” she said. “I didn’t understand what sex trafficking was at the time. The language I knew was that they were, basically, my pimps. I was just a kid.” The experience subjected her to not only rape but other types of physical violence.

But as we know, it wasn’t the end of Moore’s story. They used social platforms like Instagram to share photos of themself and joined the House of Xtravaganza in the early 2000s. Those experiences got her cast in the independent film Saturday Church which led to her casting in Pose in addition to signing to the modeling agency IMG. And now, the multi hyphenate is experiencing a different style of living all together.

Lgbt: Mj Rodriguez Wins Best Actress at Imagen Awards, Makes Trans Herstory

Mj Rodriguez is a trailblazer once again. The Pose star became the first transgender woman to win Best Actress - Television at the Imagen Awards, an annual event honoring positive representations of Latinx people in media.

Rodriguez, who portrays Blanca on the acclaimed FX drama, recognized the historic nature of her win Saturday onstage at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

"It’s so crazy to be standing up here because you'd never think in a million years you’d get an award like this being a woman like me," said Rodriguez, who thanked her mother, Pose cocreators Steven Canals and Ryan Murphy, and Janet Mock in her speech.
"Obviously, this is not just for me," she added. "This is for the little kids like me ... and I’m just trying to speak as much as I can for my community as possible and that goes for my Latino community."

Rodriguez was not the only win for Pose; the series tied with Magnum P.I. for Best Television Drama. Additionally, One Day at a Time won Best Comedy, with Rita Moreno taking home Best Supporting Actress – Television.

Pose received six Emmy nominations this year, including Best Actor for Billy Porter (Pray Tell) and Best Drama. The series, set in New York City's ballroom scene of the 1980s, made history for having the most transgender actors in a scripted series — yet none of those actors has received an Emmy nom. In particular, Rodriguez and Indya Moore (Angel) have been lauded by critics for their performances.
At present, Laverne Cox is the only transgender woman to have ever received an Emmy nomination, for her role as Sophia in Orange Is the New Black.
