Dal 15 ottobre al 15 novembre lo spazio espositivo IED Firenze
ospita "Chronicles in Color", la prima mostra personale
dell'illustratore scozzese Allan Deas, con una selezione delle sue opere
che coprono gli ultimi 12 anni della sua carriera.

I
lavori scelti rappresentano un mix delle illustrazioni realizzate da
Allan Deas su commissione per la pubblicità e l'editoria e di alcuni
progetti personali. Tutto il lavoro di Alan si caratterizza per
l'audacia stilistica che attinge ai ricordi della sua infanzia negli
anni 'i '70 e '80 e che si esprime con uno stile retro con influenze
contemporanee. Il risultato è la creazione di un parco giochi di colori,
personaggi e humor eccentrico.
La mostra è realizzata in
collaborazione con Florence Queer Festival (di cui Allan ha disegnato il
manifesto dell'edizione di quest'anno) e lo IED Firenze
In
conjunction with Florence Queer Festival ( which he designed this
year’s posters ) and the IED, European Institute of Design Florence,
Allan Deas showcases a selection of his work spanning the last 12 years
of his career in illustration. In his first solo show, ‘Chronicles in
Colour’, the Scottish born illustrator brings his colourful work to the
IED exhibition space from 15th October - 15th November.
Having
worked across many areas of design from editorial to advertising the
exhibition is a mixture of his personal and commercial illustration
work. With a bold style reflecting memories of his childhood in the 70s
& 80s Allan’s work has a slightly retro feel twisted with
contemporary influence that bring it to life in a playground of colour,
character and quirky humour.
